The Office of Connected Learning is dedicated to helping you discover experiential learning opportunities to enrich your education. Join us to learn about the Digital Scholars cohort program designed for first-generation students to help develop digital skills and a strong network of supporters. Students participate in a 2-credit class during Spring and Autumn, attend career-focused workshops, complete a paid campus internship project, and stay in university-provided housing on campus for one week during Summer Term B for onboarding.
Join Prof. Reinholdt to learn about Thailand: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Southeast Asia study abroad program. The program provides the opportunity to observe firsthand how companies in Thailand and Cambodia are addressing social and environmental challenges through CSR programs in partnerships with NGOs, government agencies and local communities.
Join Proif. Krabill and Prof. Gardner to learn about their study abroad program to Rwanda! In this three-week program, students will immerse themselves in Rwanda, exploring its post-genocide rebuilding efforts in society and economy. In partnership with the African Leadership University, students will collaborate with peers from across Africa on topics like Human Rights, Peace and Reconciliation, Global Health, Women's Rights, and more.

Join Prof. Santiago Lopez to learn about Ecuador: Global Connections and Engagements through Geotechnical Applications study abroad program. This program offers students immersive cultural engagement while exploring the diverse landscapes of the Ecuadorian Andes and the Galapagos Islands. Participants will engage in fieldwork and apply geotechnologies and data analysis techniques to study environmental systems, gaining hands-on experience in one of the world’s most biodiverse regions.

The Gilman Scholarship program offers study abroad scholarships to US citizen undergraduates who are eligible for Pell Grants. Come and learn about the program, the application process and how to write a strong personal statement.
Make progress towards completing your Gilman Scholarship application, due March 6, to fund your study abroad experience during Summer, Early Fall or Autumn. Applicants must be undergraduates who are U.S. citizens or nationals and be receiving a Federal Pell Grant. Non-traditional destinations (outside of Western Europe and Australia) are preferred.

Join a supportive Digital Scholars cohort community and gain in-demand digital skills like marketing, project management, data analytics, and visualization and more. Over three quarters (spring, summer B, and autumn), you'll receive training and explore careers and majors. The program connects students with professors, staff, community partners, and alumni to build skills and a strong network.
The UW Bothell Study Abroad Ambassador Scholarship helps to offset expenses required to participate in a study abroad program. Applicants must be current UW Bothell students enrolled in a degree program, residents of Washington State, have a minimum 2.75 GPA, and commit to promoting study abroad opportunities in the Bothell community upon their return as a Study Abroad Ambassador.
Funded by U.S. Congress, the Gilman program aims to bring diversity to study abroad, both in terms of who’s participating and where they’re going. Applicants must be undergraduates who are U.S. citizens or nationals and be receiving a Federal Pell Grant. Non-traditional destinations (outside of Western Europe and Australia) are preferred. Acceptance to a study abroad program is not required at the time of application. Award benefit: up to $5,000
Study Abroad Trip Offers New Perspectives on Environmental Challenges
UW Bothell Prof. Avery Cook Shinneman led a group of students on the summer adventure of a lifetime to explore invasive species on the island nation of New Zealand. Through immersive experiences and fieldwork, participants gained new perspectives on global environmental issues, furthering their academic and personal growth. Capstones Showcase Range of STEM Projects
The 2024 Undergraduate Capstone & Symposium at UW Bothell highlighted a variety of research projects from undergraduate students in the School of STEM. These students showcased their hands-on learning experiences through projects spanning fields like app development and gene editing, all while preparing for future opportunities and meaningful careers.
