2025 UW Study Abroad Fair
Thursday, January 16, 10:00am - 2:00pm
UW Seattle, Student Union Building (HUB), North Ballroom
This event is a great opportunity for students to learn more about UW study abroad options. At the UW Study Abroad Fair, you can:
- meet faculty and staff leading UW study abroad programs
- speak with representatives from program providers such as CIEE, SIT, etc.
- learn more about exchange programs and meet with incoming and outgoing participants
- attend information sessions on how to get started with study abroad
- attend information sessions on scholarships and how to fund your study abroad program
Interested in gaining hands-on experience while exploring global health challenges? Join us for an info session to learn more about our Summer Quarter study abroad program in India! This unique opportunity will allow you to work with local communities and address health inequities, cultural influences, and social determinants of health. Come find out how you can be part of this transformative experience.
This interactive event offers students the opportunity to explore 2025 study abroad programs, with a focus on those led by UW Bothell faculty, and discover 2-3 options that align with their interests and experiences.
Join professors Ron Krabill and Ben Gardner to learn about their Early Fall study abroad program to Rwanda. In this three-week program (August 28 - September 19, 2025), students will immerse themselves in Rwanda, exploring its post-genocide rebuilding efforts in society and economy. In partnership with the African Leadership University, students will collaborate with peers from across Africa on topics like Human Rights, Peace and Reconciliation, Global Health, Women's Rights, and more. The program includes lectures, cultural activities, and team-based projects with ALU students, culminating in presentations on chosen themes.
Curious about summer research opportunities? "Summer Research Unlocked" is a quick, 1-hour workshop that covers the essentials: where to find programs, tips for a strong application, and strategies to make the most of your experience. Get the insights you need to confidently start your summer research journey and make the most of your application efforts. Perfect for students new to research or looking for a short, impactful guide to summer opportunities!
This event helps students uncover their “digital superpower” through a quick personality quiz. The superpowers align with skills and topics covered in the Digital Scholars program, like data visualization, project management, and marketing. Come have fun and learn more about Digital Scholars! The application deadline is February 14th.
BCORE 104: Art and Politics of Walking Community-Engaged Learning and Research (CELR) Course, led by Dr. Jason Lambacher, wraps up their Adventure Lab project with Geocache community volunteer and mentor Jeff Weaver, celebrating a successful collaboration through hands-on exploration and immersive experiences with the City of Kenmore.
The Udall Scholarship is for full-time sophomores and juniors in any major with a strong demonstrated commitment to environmental issues OR who are Native American/Alaska Native and committed to Native American healthcare OR tribal public policy. Each year, the Udall Foundation anticipates awarding 55 scholarships of up to $7,000. Udall applicants must be nominated by the UW.
The Mary Gates Research and Leadership scholarships provide UW undergraduates with the opportunity to enhance their leadership and research skills through hands-on experience, personal reflection, and mentorship. Open to students from all disciplines and citizenship statuses.
The Fulbright UK Summer Institutes are academic and cultural summer programs aimed to promote mutual understanding between the United States and the United Kingdom. First-year and sophomore students in any major who have little or no study or travel experience in the UK or anywhere else outside the US may apply.
Application deadline is 5PM UK Time.
Join a supportive Digital Scholars cohort community and gain in-demand digital skills like marketing, project management, data analytics, and visualization and more. Over three quarters (spring, summer B, and autumn), you'll receive training and explore careers and majors. The program connects students with professors, staff, community partners, and alumni to build skills and a strong network.
The UW Bothell Study Abroad Ambassador Scholarship helps to offset expenses required to participate in a study abroad program. Applicants must be current UW Bothell students enrolled in a degree program, residents of Washington State, have a minimum 2.75 GPA, and commit to promoting study abroad opportunities in the Bothell community upon their return as a Study Abroad Ambassador.
There are four deadlines during the academic year: fall, winter, spring, and summer quarters. Winter applications are due on February 21 by 11:59pm.

The Civic Generation
The Next Gen Civic Leader Corpsprogram offers students hands-on learning, mentorship, and leadership development to prepare them for careers in public service. Students engage in internships and fellowships, working directly with government agencies, nonprofits, or social justice organizations, where they apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges. Getting the Most out of the Graduate Experience
After years as a paraeducator and freelance designer, Breanna Powell returned to the UW Bothell for a master’s in Computer Science & Software Engineering. She joined the ACM Club, studied abroad in Germany, and interned at Los Alamos National Laboratory, gaining valuable hands-on experience. Read about Breanna's journey at UW Bothell.
