Student Academic Showcase Projects Due

The Student Academic Showcase, planned for May 13-15, is a campus-wide celebration featuring student learning and research journeys, collaborations, community partners, and networking.
The event includes film screenings, student-led talks and exhibitions, artwork displays, oral presentations, and a poster session.
Project titles are due by March 21, 2025 and can be submitted by the student or a project mentor.

In this CBIT seminar series, industry professionals share their personal career journeys and highlight diverse pathways into the biotech industry. Whether you're studying science, business, engineering, or the arts, you'll learn how your unique background can open doors in this innovative field. Join us to explore the future of the industry in our region, gain career insights, and find your own path to success in the dynamic world of biotech!
The World Cafe is a method to engage for staff, faculty, and students in coming together to cultivate thoughts around the topic of Identity and Belonging and how it shows up and is supported on the UW Bothell campus. Discussing why identity is important gives space for the collective to think about how the campus continues to build a sense of community and belonging, as we navigate the complexity of our world. Light refreshments will be provided.
Evans Career Development hosts a Career Pathway Panel series on the public, private and non-profit sector with Evans School alumni and partners.
Panelists share their career journey, the impact of Evans on their work, advice for the job search, and insights on the work that they do in their sector. The goal for these panels is to help students explore, and learn about various potential areas they would like to work in and gain insight on what steps to take.

Monday March 24th, 10-1, group hike at St. Edwards State Park. We’ll pull invasives and pick up litter along the way, then break for a picnic lunch. Bring your own lunch and water!

Wednesday March 26th, 10-12:30pm, volunteer at 21 Acres: We’ll be at the 21 Acres Farm in Woodinville to support their spring farm needs. Then enjoy a group lunch (provided) and explore their library!

Friday March 28th, 10-12pm, beach clean up in Kenmore: Join us for a beach clean-up at Log Boom Park in Kenmore, and connect with the community!
Funded by U.S. Congress, the Gilman program aims to bring diversity to study abroad, both in terms of who’s participating and where they’re going. Applicants must be undergraduates who are U.S. citizens or nationals and be receiving a Federal Pell Grant. Non-traditional destinations (outside of Western Europe and Australia) are preferred. Acceptance to a study abroad program is not required at the time of application. Award benefit: up to $5,000

Global Visionaries: Sabrina Oliveira
The Office of Global Affairs featured UW Bothell student Sabrina Oliveira in the January 2025 edition of the Global Visionaries series, which highlights the UW’s global impact through innovative, globally engaged faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Sabrina, a senior studying Data Visualization in the School of IAS, shares her journey of exploring global citizenship, learning about international human rights, and making the most of global learning opportunities.
Latino Program in WA Encourages Young Latinos to Pursue Higher Education
Undergraduates at UW Bothell participated in the Latino Leadership Initiative (LLI) to help young Latinos build confidence and leadership skills for higher education. The program provided Bothell High School students with mentorship on college preparation, resume workshops, and financial aid, addressing the lack of college resources.
